Corrugated cardboard box with three steps of moderate packaging

September 27, 2022

The modest degree of the carton refers to the rational and proper use of the product packaging, and the excess is excessive. This is a problem that arises when designing from a carton. Originally a three-layer carton would be sufficient, but a five-ply carton would be used; one cubic meter would be sufficient, but a 1.5-cubic-meter carton would be used to empty a space. Many times, these problems are caused by unreasonable user requirements. Therefore, from the perspective of the carton factory, users should be persuaded to tailor. In fact, packaging only needs to satisfy two requirements of the product, namely, protection of goods and beautification of goods. The packaging that meets these two requirements is moderately packaged and qualified.

To achieve proper packaging of goods, for corrugated box manufacturers, the factors considered should not be limited to the carton products themselves. In fact, from the perspective of the development of the industry as a whole and from various technical perspectives, they will have more or less impact on the moderate packaging. The so-called moderate packaging of goods shall include: proper protection of commodity packaging; proper use of materials for commodity packaging; appropriate volume and capacity of commodity packaging: reasonable cost and cost of commodity packaging; This article will analyze the following aspects from several aspects.

Advanced production equipment guarantees the proper protection of the manufactured cartons. Compared with the international advanced level, we should first think of the number of corrugated board automated production lines. According to the statistics of the International Corrugated Box Association, in 2005, there were 600 production lines in the United States, with an annual output of 400 million square meters of corrugated cardboard, while China produced 13 billion square meters of that year, but there are as many as 1200 corrugated cardboard production lines. Each tile line in the United States produces 66.66 million square meters. Each production line in our country can produce 10.83 million square meters. Moreover, not all of our cartons are produced by tile lines, but rather a large number of single-machine-based single machines. In production, it is estimated that this amount accounts for one-third of the total amount. In this way, each tile line in China can actually produce only 7.22 million square meters, which is only one-ninth of the US corrugated board production line. In addition, among these tile lines in China, there are old tiles lines that have been in production for more than 20 years and are still being used in maintenance. According to international standards, the service life of more than 15 years should be eliminated. What is more noteworthy is that tile lines with a speed of 80 meters per minute and a width of 1.6 meters account for more than 50% of the production line, but they are still in operation. This directly affects the quality of our corrugated board. At the same time, the level of good equipment cannot be brought into full play, and the construction of advanced equipment will not be able to play its capacity, but it will also be at a disadvantage in vicious competition.

Therefore, we recommend that equipment that has been used for 15-20 years should be phased out in order to maintain the advanced nature of our tile lines. In addition, about 1/3 of the corrugated paperboards produced by stand-alone machines are difficult to achieve, and they should be replaced by new advanced equipment. From an objective point of view, China's current tile line has greatly exceeded the market demand, so it should promptly eliminate backward equipment, replace it with more advanced equipment, and give full play to the capabilities of advanced equipment. In this way, the competition between backward equipment and advanced equipment will end soon.

Efforts are made to reduce the cost of the packaging of cartons of goods in order to promote proper packaging. From the microscopic point of view, each carton factory needs to save manpower and increase efficiency. Visiting the Israeli carton factory found such a configuration. This is also the only configuration in the world that the author currently sees – the factory has only one corrugated cardboard production line, and a tile line produced by a US Lanston and a Japanese Mitsubishi Heavy Industries. Can meet the requirements of the country, full of tasks, high production efficiency. Comparing with China's corrugated box manufacturers, it is often due to configuration problems that appear to be inefficient.

From an industry-wide macro perspective, advanced industrial countries in the world, such as the United States, use centralized manufacturing and decentralized manufacturing. That is, a factory with a corrugated cardboard automated production line concentrates on the production of plates, and then the individual systems The box factory bought it back and decentralized the box, which not only ensured the quality of the carton but also improved the efficiency. Most of the carton factories in China are self-made and self-made. Make the carton production efficiency decrease, the cost increases. Fortunately, in recent years, Zhejiang, Guangdong and other places have begun to adopt methods of centralized plate making and decentralized box making, so that the manpower required on the production line has been greatly reduced, and good results have been achieved.

Carton design methods and material selection are suitable to ensure proper packaging of goods

Let's talk about 楞 type first. Corrugated cardboard boxes have K, A, C, B, D, E, F seven types of standard. The most commonly used five-layer corrugated mine in China is a combination of A and B, while the advanced countries in Europe and America use more C and B concrete. The latter can save some raw materials. For example, Japan is a high-temperature, high-humidity environment, and at the same time, the highway grade standard is not as good as that of Europe and the United States. Therefore, type A is used instead of type C. The situation in China is similar to Japan. As an anti-vertical pressure, high-compression-strength outer packaging is required, so A-type corrugated cartons are generally used (most of double-sided single corrugated type A-type corrugated). The B-type corrugated box has a smaller vertical compression strength than the A-type, but its anti-planar compressive strength is large, it is resistant to impact shock during transportation, and it is suitable as a shipping box for canned metal products. At the same time, the corrugation height of Type B corrugated boxes is lower than that of Type A and Type C, and it is easy to be bent and processed. It is suitable for packaging of east fish and frozen products. In general, single corrugated cardboard boxes are suitable for type A and type C, double corrugated cardboard boxes are used for types A and B, and combinations of type C and type B are the most ideal. Types B, which are close to the surface, are resistant due to their resistance; The inner layer is type A or type C because of its elasticity and strong cushioning force.

Combining these characteristics, when considering proper packaging of goods, due to the vast land in China and the great differences in climate everywhere, the corrugated shapes and combinations need to be properly selected according to the local and product transportation areas.

Next discuss the choice of raw materials. Nowadays, the selection trend of raw materials in industrial countries in the world is: low-weight, high-strength base paper is used for face paper, and high-gram weight corrugated paper is used for corrugated core paper. In our country, the opposite is true. This choice abroad is based on the premise that the technical indicators of corrugated board can be maintained, so as to achieve the purpose of saving raw material costs. Some factories in China now have begun to make such choices, but they still need to be vigorously promoted so that the cost of the carton can be reduced only if the original performance of corrugated cardboard is maintained.

Again, from the paperboard itself, the number of five-layer corrugated boards should be reduced and the number of three-layer corrugated boards increased. Foreign advanced industrial countries mainly have a large proportion of three-layer corrugated cardboard, while five-layer corrugated cardboard accounts for a small proportion. And foreign countries mainly choose pure wood pulp paper. Because of the lack of wood in our country, we have to use wood pulp and some straw pulp. This makes the strength of paper made in China not high. Because the paper tension is not enough, in the case of high-speed operation of the machine, One run will break the paper, causing the automatic production line of corrugated board to run less than the ideal speed. The automatic production line can only be maintained at a low speed, so the equipment function can not be played well, and the quality of the paper box is not ideal, which indirectly affects the proper packaging of the paper box. It is recommended to change the previous practice by using good paper instead of containing some straw pulp paper and replacing three-layer corrugated cardboard with five-layer corrugated cardboard. This will not only reduce transport costs, but also reduce unnecessary troubles in the recycling process of cartons, and ensure that the cartons are moderate. .

Finally, different shapes can also affect the proper packaging of cartons.

The so-called corrugated shape refers to the corrugated profile of the corrugated profile. The main difference lies in the corrugation peak and corrugated arc radius. There are three types of corrugated shapes: U-shaped, V-shaped, UV-shaped, U-shaped peaks, and valleys. Large, V-shaped, UV-shaped in the middle. Different shapes have different performance characteristics.

Combining the advantages and disadvantages of three types of corrugated shapes: U, V, and UV, the pros and cons of both U-shape and V-shape are obvious. Although the advantages of UV-shape are not optimal, the disadvantages are not so prominent, and the overall performance can be adapted to most corrugated packaging. General requirements. Therefore, UV-shaped corrugated iron is widely used in various countries of the world. Of course, some packages that require special emphasis on cushioning properties and shock absorption, or for some corrugated packaging containers that require particularly high hardness and high strength, should use U-shaped or V-shaped corrugated boxes with some special effects in these areas. To meet special packaging requirements for specific contents.

In summary, according to the packaging requirements for different contents, choosing different carton shape design will inevitably better meet the requirements of moderately corrugated carton packaging.

As the corrugated box packaging itself has the advantages of plastic structure, convenient packaging, and protection of the content, rigidity, softness, beautification of goods, and adaptation to circulation, it can be imagined if the degree of popularity of the corrugated box packaging can be moderate. !
